SASO Certification/SABER Certification
In 2019, the Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization (SASO) introduced the “SALEEM” program, aimed at enhancing product safety in Saudi Arabia. “Saleem,” an Arabic term meaning safety, signifies the program’s objective. SALEEM streamlines and monitors imports into Saudi Arabia from worldwide sources, ensuring adherence to stringent safety and quality regulations.

This program applies to faucets, showers, and toilets, categorizing them based on their water consumption rates, whether high or low.
IECEE Recognition Certification
On March 10, 2021, the Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology, and Quality (SASO) released a list of products for which acquiring the IECEE national recognition certificate would be mandatory starting from July 1, 2021. However, in a recent update posted on SASO’s official website, the implementation date has been postponed to November 1, 2021.
EER (Energy Efficiency Rating) Certification
The Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization (SASO) has introduced new Energy Efficiency Labelling Regulations for various electrical and electronic (EE) products. Manufacturers and importers are required to ensure compliance with these regulations before introducing their goods to the Saudi Arabian market.
G Mark (Gulf mark of conformity)
The G Mark, also recognized as the Gulf mark of conformity, serves as a certification emblem denoting adherence to the standards of product safety and quality established by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). This mark is mandatory for toys and low-voltage electrical (LVE) products destined for export to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
