IECEE Recognition Certification
On March 10, 2021, the Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology, and Quality (SASO) announced mandatory requirements for obtaining the IECEE national recognition certificate for a specified list of products, originally scheduled to begin on July 1, 2021. However, SASO recently updated their official website, postponing the implementation date to November 1, 2021. This adjustment marks the second delay in the implementation timeline; previously, the deadline was set for September 1, 2021.
According to SASO’s latest directive, the SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate will replace the SABER Product Certificate of Conformity (CoC) for the listed products. This change aims to streamline the certification process and enhance product conformity assessment standards in Saudi Arabia. SASO Conformity Bodies (CBs) will not approve SABER Shipment Certificate of Conformity requests for these items after the enforcement dates unless a valid SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate is provided, even if a SABER Product CoC exists.

- Electrical pumps (up to 5 hp)
- Mobile phones and accessories
- Power banks
- Smart watches
- Lighting and its parts
- Televisions and monitors
- Dishwashers
- E-cigarettes
- PV products
- Desktop personal computers (PCs)
- LED lamps
- Laptops and tablets
- Electric water kettles
- Shaving devices
- Electrical circuit breakers
- Control gear lights
- Coffee makers
- Video game consoles and accessories (controllers, wireless headphones, chargers, etc.)
- Electric oil fryers
- Electric cables
- Charger cables for mobile phones
